PHINCA ABEJERA
Single Vineyard
Phinca Abejera takes its name from the paraje, or vineyard site, “Abejera,” a nod to its history as a sanctuary for bees (abejas). Planted in 1929, this gently sloping, west-facing vineyard has been part of David’s life since childhood, reflecting his deep, lifelong connection to this land.
Surrounded by Mediterranean flowers and herbs, the vineyard exudes aromas of garrigue that subtly enhance the wine’s character. A neighboring orchard further evokes the vineyard’s history as a haven for pollinators and biodiversity. The old bush vines, rooted in shallow limestone clay soils, yield a distinctive blend of Graciano, Tempranillo, and Viura.
Biodynamically farmed and worked by plow horse, Phinca Abejera encapsulates the harmony of its environment, offering a wine of complexity, character, and a profound sense of place.
Respecting Nonpareil Vineyards
WINES THAT SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES
Within each subzone, we have vineyards that possess something special. Once vinified, our wines aspire to communicate their geographic, temporal, historical, and cultural origins. They capture the essence of their environment, including the soil, surroundings, sun exposure, and microclimate, resulting in wines that embody the fragance of flowers, mediterranean herbs, and the natural surroundings of the wines.
